To be safe, I re-applied the 2.65.65.65 update from Windows (took about 10 minutes and lost connection briefly during the process).Ĭleared the logs via OpenManage and confirmed logs were clear in the iDRAC. Server appeared fully functional and I rebooted to Windows Server 2012R2 just fine. Enter another criterion and retry the operation.Ĭlearly a bogus error message, as I can actually see entries during the date range specified, and the 1999 updates appear ahead of those before the update. Whether you are preparing for your install and training by an authorized Brother Technician or an existing user that is looking for some assistance, you have come to the correct place. In the log filter on the iDRAC, I can't search for entries during the update. Welcome to the Brother DTG Learning Center. So, it appears the issue is converting the logs. I see Firmware 2.65.65.65 (the version it was supposed to update to). However, everything just before the update was dated. Went to Lifecycle Log: nothing about the iDRAC. Entered Lifecycle Controller again automatically, but not update screen. Server went to Lifecycle controller automatically and briefly showed the update screen but crashed to a black screen. Saw the iDRAC reset during the update, lost connection briefly, but retained remote control via the DRAC the whole time.Ĭold-cycled, system rebooted. Updated BIOS, NIC Firmware, and iDRAC via Lifecycle Controller using FTP. I need to do the same process on an R720 so I may update the iDRAC separately first, then use the LC to do the BIOS and NIC firmware upgrades. Nothing appears broken and everything is running smoothly. This time I simply exited the LC and booted the server as normal. The unit did boot back up and went directly into the lifecycle controller where the task flashed up as failed and the server immediately rebooted once more directly back into the lifecycle controller. I let the iDRAC update task run for close to 2hrs total before I performed a cold power cycle. The iDRAC update task ran long just as described by MNLeone, however despite the task showing as still running the iDRAC DID get updated and became available again to log in to at one point during the task. The BIOS and NIC firmware were both successful and showed green checkmarks. The P-touch Transfer Express window will appear and begin the firmware update. Double-click the file PrTrExp to start the update.

I350 NIC firmware was also being updated, I did not capture that version info prior to the upgrade.ĭuring the upgrade the LC upgraded the BIOS first, then the NIC, then the iDRAC. After the download, browse to the location where the file was saved and double-click on it to unzip the file. My iDRAC 7 and LC versions were 2.52.52.52 and the LC was upgrading it to 2.60.60.60.īIOS was 2.6.1 with the LC taking it to 2.7. (I might have needed to add a Port with the printer's IP address if that didn't work).I encountered the exact same thing on an R620. (and in my case) I selected a port with the IP address of the printer or it was the name of the printer(?). Open Devices and Printers from the Control Panel I could ping the printer from both computers but could only print from one of them.

Later the printer appeared to be offline to one of my computers, but not another. Brother's support tried to do it and they couldn't either. I then tried unsuccessfully to change the printer's Node name via the printer's web interface. In fact the Deco system dynamically assigned the printer an IP address (there was no need to statically assign one) TP-Link's support was great and they remotely accessed my computer and discovered that the printer was there (I told them if there had been a way to list the mac addresses of all the Devices in the List that I would have seen that the printer was there - clicking on each Device in the List to determine the mac address is a pain). Somehow the printer's wireless Node Name was changed to "DECO_. However (I thought) that the printer was not showing up in the Deco App's Device List.

Multiple issues! First, I updated the Brother software and things started to work - with a static IP address.
